Re: Porsche's Own brand Dashcam Questions

Do you really want a Dashcam install that relies on a Porsche App to save and view the videos? I get your point but for completeness, technically you don't need the Porsche App. You could just remove the memory card. I gave up with Porsche Apps a long while back  Never had a single issue with ...

Re: Stone Chips - Recommend a Specialist

Cheers guys. Bonnet was only refinished in Feb and I’ve been waiting for it to harden and gas off. Bit gutted, but I’ve dropped it back at OPC Silverstone today for a couple of warranty jobs so asked them to look at it as they have onsite bodyshop. Was there already an issue with the bonnet then?

Re: Remote connect package

I had the MB version on my previous car , that was rubbish as well. The MB version I have is pretty good. If you pay the subscription you can lock doors etc remotely. If you let it lapse like I have you still get all the service info, mpg, accurate notfications for doors left unlocked all FOC ;)

Anyone that can do this shouldn't be driving a Porsche :D

Re: Remote connect package

My car is due in for an Oil Service in a few weeks The car doesn't currently have Remote services via Porsche Connect and the feedback on the forum seems to be mixed in its reliability. Its £180 for 2 years, is it worth getting it activated? Nope, it's very poor and you can't interact with the car ...

Re: Scratches on windscreen

There are owners on here that have had worse and it’s been corrected so it must be possible. Hope you're right, but not sure how :) And Porsche have to accept it's outside their accepted tolerance range... Think it needs to go to one of their body shops where they know how to adjust.

Re: Cracked windscreen

I don’t have any issue with mine at all. I just put this up for comparison as this is my factory screen and to suggest the gap is not necessarily consistent 😉

7mm on the OPs replacement is poor though.

Re: Cracked windscreen

The gap on my screen from the factory does not have a consistent gap all the way down. It’s larger in the middle area and then very tight towards the bonnet. Same both sides.

Re: Cracked windscreen

I don't rate these companies at all. Very much do it as quick as possible and with little care. My Mercedes had a cracked screen a couple of years ago and this was replaced by National Windscreens. They scratched my roof from presumably using a screwdriver to remove the roof bar trim, which I notice...
