Re: Insurance

LV= renewal on a Garaged Gen3 S jumped from £460 to £750 with no changes in use. Hike on 2nd and 3rd cars was in the 30-40% range so a 60% increase on the Macan alongside the other posts here does suggest that the underwriting risk has increased. Lets see what some effort over the weekend can produc...

Re: Macan GTS - spec opinions & avoiding tinted glass

Do you by any chance have the combined Acoustic + Privacy option? Yes I have the combined Acoustic + Privacy option. By the way the laminate film layers inside the rear glass have the privacy tint and it looks different to standard privacy glass from inside the car. One of the layers is also a IR f...

Re: Macan GTS - spec opinions & avoiding tinted glass

I have the Acoustic/Thermal glass (which is brilliant) and it is tinted. Depending on the angle it can look light or dark as you can see in the two photos below.

Re: How easy is it to kerb standard gen 3 S wheels

Easy enough to justify Surround View as an option compared to the aggro and hassle of refurb with Diamond Polished finish & clearcoat. For a painted finish like Black or Satin Platinum I might be tempted to take my chances with Reverse Camera only and go the refurb route if it happened.

Re: Porsche Dashcam First Impressions

weeks in my experience leaving it in the garage on a tricke charger (it starts up saying “events recorded”). It shuts down once battery drops down to about 11v so it all depends on your state of charge but I would imagine a few days.

Re: Macan S - Lockdown Spec

Nice spec and the Air Suspension is one of the better value options. Painted rear apron helps the look and GB goes well with Pebble which had the happy effect of lightening up the cabin so much that I didn’t need Pan Roof so a big saving, which I used to upgrade to the Acoustic/insulated glass (a gr...

Re: Macan EV

This UK legislation is going to lead to plenty of unintended consequences. I have decided to cancel my 2024 GTS and stick with my 2022 S as it is not a daily driver and is as good as new. I am taking delivery of a new Polo as runabout in a few months as I read they are going the way of the Fiesta an...

Re: Another Price Hike?

There was certainly a VW price rise. I have a Polo on order (5 month lead time!) and beat the c.3% rise on Oct 3rd. Finance rates went up too.

Re: You Pay Peanuts ………..

Sorry to point this out but this thread has descended into a bunch of well off blokes poking fun at others paid less than they are (even the thread title implies it). Have a go at Inchape or Sytner Group or Porsche GB by all means but probably best leave people trying to build a career out of it.

Re: Desperation is starting to show

A cautionary tale from 6 years ago... I reasoned that the first owner had taken the full depreciation hit on an i8 after 9 months when it had dropped from £114k new to £75k after 3k miles use. I sold it just under a year later for £57k after putting just 1800 miles on it. When there is a glut of nic...
