Re: Violent shudder at high revs & warning light

Resurrecting this thread with an update… It’s been a CRAZY few months. In a nut shell the dealer and Porsche HQ diagnosed the issue…and it wasn’t pretty! It started when the garage confirmed that after replacing both the high pressure fuel pump and the low pressure one (in the tank), that there was ...

Re: Violent shudder at high revs & warning light

Quick update from today: Car has been back and forth from the garage and is now there for the next few days given then can’t find a fix. Basically they’ve now installed a new high pressure fuel pump, a low pressure pump (I think this is located in the fuel tank) and a fuel sensor and it still persi...

Re: Violent shudder at high revs & warning light

Yes I agree, I guess I’m just in shock.

Agree it seems a bit coincidental - it’s a new(ish) Esso which is around 1 to 2 years old so assume the tanks are in good condition?! I had just under a quarter left so filled up a good amount into my 75L tank of around 60L.

Re: Violent shudder at high revs & warning light

Ok thanks, I’ve emailed ahead of the service dept opening on Monday so will let you know what they say. Are you saying that premium fuel is more prone to being contaminated with water due to slower sales right now? Gulp…it was Esso Supreme+ Unleaded that I filled up with…feel gutted now that maybe I...

Re: Violent shudder at high revs & warning light

Hoping so! Just seems like a rare issue - I haven’t seen anyone else having an issue with the fuel pump so is making me slightly nervous!

Re: Violent shudder at high revs & warning light

Anyone got any advice on this one? I keep worrying if it’s contaminated petrol - should I mention to the garage to check this? I spoke directly with the technician and he stated that the hpfp was the fault coming up - would a fault come up for other things if it was fuel contamination?

Re: Violent shudder at high revs & warning light

the worrying thing is if it was caused by contaminated fuel. You said it happened after you filled the tank. If the fuel had crap in it it may have caused issues with the HPFP. Make sure you keep your petrol receipt Yeah it’s crossed my mind, it was Esso premium unleaded so would hope not. How woul...
