The Porsche Macan was originally known by its code name Cajun. On February 16, 2012 Porsche announced the final name for the car to be Macan. The name Macan is derived from the Indonesian word for tiger. The Macan is produced alongside the Panamera and the Cayenne in Leipzig, Germany. As the sports car of the compact SUV segment, the Porsche Macan has been setting standards in terms of driving dynamics since it first made its debut in 2013.
The Porsche Macan is available in a number of derivatives including, The Macan, Macan S, Macan S Diesel, Macan GTS, Macan Turbo, Macan Turbo with Performance Package.
