I doubt Porsche do Porsche loan cars. I'm surprised they don't have fleets of Skoda's or Golfs, as they are all part of the same group.

From what I've read on other threads, you may just get a rent-a-car vehicle. So anything from a Kia upwards.

TBH, sometimes getting a little underpowered loan car can be quite fun if you have a few hours to kill and some fun roads to use it on.
I’ve only once had non Porsche - a BMW 1 series. Otherwise I’ve had a Boxster, a hybrid Cayenne and a stack of Macans (Tewkesbury, Solihull & Nottingham).

I've not had one for a while but in the past I've had 2 Boxsters(1 with 40 miles on the clock), a Cayman, and 2 Macan's. I think if there's any 911's kicking around they go to more prestige customers than me.

For me, had that same recall done as the OP and the loaner was a latest spec BMW 320i M Sport. Surprisingly UNDERwhelming I found it to be which I didnt expect at all (and the 2 bimmers I've had years ago were way more engaging / driveable).

Going back in for transfer case replacement in a couple of weeks so am expecting nothing of note for the loaner then either !

Like the OP, I was excited to see what my first loan car would be, expecting another Porsche. Aside from one eco-friendly Golf I must say I've only ever had Porsches. I've been lucky enough to have lots of problems with my Macan and therefore more loan cars than normal. All from OPC Swindon - 2x Boxsters, a Boxster S, Cayman T, Cayman S, 2x Cayennes, a Cayenne S and most recently a Panamera 4 E-Hybrid ST Platinum Edition. I think the latter was the same day WingCo had his Kia....sorry Simon! Never feel afraid to ask for something. After having five consecutive 718s they were about to give me another; I asked if they had anything different and drove off in a Cayenne S that morning.

I don't know if it's just my imagination, but it seems the more loyal you are to the OPC, the more they look after you. That said, there are always going to be unforeseen circumstances resulting in the planned loaner not being available, but keep your fingers crossed.

I've always had Porsche cars from PC Edinburgh. If I'm arranging them I now ask them what they have and ask to try something different

Ha ha! No worries! :)

The service adviser was very apologetic that it wasn’t a Porsche.

I can’t complain, I have had tons of Porsche loaners over the last 7 years or so. One of the most memorable was a V8 Panamera SD for a weekend!

I do appreciate that as I haven’t bought a Porsche since 2018, I might be slipping down the VIP list! Plus, I split my business between Swindon, Tewkesbury and Cambridge.

Ah well, am unlikely to use an OPC for a while now, as am moving to the indy ‘dark side’!

Cheers,
Simon

Dropped my Macan S in this morning at Leeds for the Recall. Was quite pleased to receive a brand new Cayenne Hybrid Platinum ed with 23 miles on the clock, thought we only had it for a few hours, but they don't want it back till 5. would have preferred something 'sporty' but thought they were very good.

Dropped in my Cayenne for a service and they gave me this £115k Panamera e-hybrid runaround with 600 miles on the clock. I specced it up on the config, £85k + £30k of extras, and the extras chosen versus those not chosen is fascinating. Air outlet trims in carbon £1k, aluminium pedals £300, posh fuel filler cap £117. Must be a lot of fun being let loose in the configurator and ordering a car that is just for demo purposes.
They never even showed me how the hybrid bit works, just handed me the keys and said see you later. Stunning car though, which I'm taking up the motorway and around some country roads tomorrow before handing it back.
