Perhaps, but your deal was a P/X price against a much more expensive car so maybe they gave you a bit more; did you include VED+RFL in your calculation? Mine was a one way sale to my OPC. Coincidentally, had a call from a Mercedes dealer who I bought from previously, no doubt touting for business and told him that I was planning on selling my car and had been offered £65k. He said take it, as the used market is struggling. To reinforce my decision I offered my car to a OPC further north who offered £59-60k.
Yes that was my point really, the fact that in just a few short months prices have come down to the point where a GTS is now fetching broadly what a well specced S did just three months ago.
It’s partly why I won’t buy new now until the market changes, as the new versions are now sadly so much more expensive but susceptible to pretty savage depreciation at the same time
You boys got me thinking.... fag packet out... had my Gen2 181 weeks @ £89.50 pw. No complaints here.
You need to add servicing and things like tyres to your calculation for a more accurate figure but overall it'll be pretty good
Used to get 50p lunch money when at school which was the same as 10 B&H. Would go home at lunchtime with my mates and make sandwiches and buy 10 fags. My mother was always scratching her head where all the bread went. Bad.
In 1960 my 14 year old cousin bought a pack of 5 Woodbines for 8d. I was eight but as we walked down the street I thought I was eighteen. No one batted an eyelid.

Sold my 2015 SD today for £24k. That makes it £72 per week over the 8 years. Can't grumble at that
My MB C250d 4matic bought April 2018 (50 miles on clock) and p/exd for the Macan in April 23 averaged just over 50 cigarettes a week for 5 years.. Save you getting the calculator out , thats about £36.50.
It was pre-reg but Covid really affected residuals , I think the bubble has now burst though.

That's about 2 packs of Kingsize nowadays
Having been a smoker I was flabbergasted to be told last week that the average pack of 20 is now £14 so a 20 a day "person" spends £98 a week on cigs.
I’m also an ex smoker, gave up in 1985, I used to smoke St Moritz menthol extra length, they were quite a bit more expensive than your regular malbrough, guess they would be at least 17 quid a packet now.

Sounds so familiar. I used to get 10p a day lunch money and me and my mates used to buy 10 Players Number 10 for 9 1/2p and a book of matches for the remains 1/2p. No wonder I was a skinny runt. If I was conservative with the matches by the end of the week a Friday treat was 4 blackjacks for a penny.
