I was happy with Ceramic coating, if only for the ease of cleaning. It's not a garage queen so it will naturally pickup things here any there over time. It happens.
Did you pay OPC for the GTechniq Ceramic coating or was it a freebie?
No they didn't pay for it. I got it done a week after collection. Wasn't going to let them do it, wanted to go to a professional. V happy with it tbh. Cleaning is a doddle, and the water beads like a dream.
My OPC have offered Out/In GTechniq treatment as a freebie. I questioned who does the actual work and they said GTechniq have trained OPC personnel to complete the work. It's a £799 option which no doubt £700 more than it costs Porsche but when it's free.. why not!!

It's not just about the Gtechniq coating though. Alot of time is in the prep work...polishing etc. They might have a Gtechniq trained OPC but are they any good at polishing ? It can cause more issues when ceramic coating is applied to paint with swirls etc in it...and even from factory swirls come as standard...unbelievably you don't have to pay for them 😉

Having said that i think Muff detailing do cars from Wilmslow, Stockport, Chester who are very good 👍

I'm hoping that a main Porsche dealership will be suitably experienced in this type of work as no doubt they will have completed many times before. So I have high expectations 🤞

Agreed.

If they weren't any good the complaints and the cost of reparation work would soon make certain they got up to standard quickly.

And this Forum would be testament to that.

With that in mind, I have decided to keep her!

So I'll be sticking around here! :) can an admin remove this for sale thread?
What was the highest offer? I'm curious as hoping to sell my 2022 model soon.
I got a £75K. Several £70Ks.
Motorway and WBAC were mid £60s which I laughed out of the room.
To sell it I wanted £80k. Whether that was realistic is a moot point but I didn't see it as unreasonable going by what was already for sale. That said it would probably have been a private individual rather than a garage who then needed to make money ontop. Needless to say I didn't get close enough to that so going to keep it now and enjoy it.
Accepted an offer of £65k on mine. That's equates to £137 a week depreciation over the 87 weeks of ownership. Can't complain about that.

That’s interesting as things are changing quite quickly it seems. I had mine for 62 weeks and lost exactly £8k on my S when part chopped end of July.
That’s £129 per week depreciation. 🤷‍♂️

True. When I ordered my Macan I was going to get my local detailer to carry out the work, as he’d done my last 2 cars. But that meant collecting it and driving it around before he got chance to ceramic coat it.

Porsche was more expensive but it meant the car was coated on collection. And as we were going off to Scotland a few days after collection, I got My OPC to carry out the work. The results were spot on. Can’t fault the finish.

I’m sure if their work wasn’t up to scratch, come customer survey time, the OPC & Porsche would know about it.

I’m sure the don’t do as much prep work as my local detailer would, but the results have been more than acceptable

Perhaps, but your deal was a P/X price against a much more expensive car so maybe they gave you a bit more; did you include VED+RFL in your calculation? I did but excluding them eg £2.5k would be £109 per week of ownership. Mine was a one way sale to my OPC. Coincidentally, had a call from a Mercedes dealer who I bought from previously, no doubt touting for business and told him that I was planning on selling my car and had been offered £65k. He said take it, as the used market is struggling. To reinforce my decision I offered my car to a OPC further north who offered £59-60k.

Yes that was my point really, the fact that in just a few short months prices have come down to the point where a GTS is now fetching broadly what a well specced S did just three months ago.
It’s partly why I won’t buy new now until the market changes, as the new versions are now sadly so much more expensive but susceptible to pretty savage depreciation at the same time 😳
